Surgery

The day after Thanksgiving a bump was discovered on the bottom of Emily's chin. After visits to the pediatrician, the ultrasound tech, and the ear throat and nose specialist the bump was diagnosed as a "thyroglossal duct cyst". We were told this was not seroius, but should be removed because of risk of infection. On January 5th we checked into the hospital for the surgery. When we checked into the hospital Emily informed the nurses that her Nemo fish had a owie on his neck too, so they took him into surgery right along with her. Emily was in surgery about and hour and a half. The surgoen said all went well and sent us home earlier than expected. We are trying to keep our two and a half year old down and quiet, which is not the easiest thing to do! She has stitches which you can kind of see in the picture, but she has not complained once. What a trooper...:)
